Day 7 - Wyoming

Because there's no such thing as a boring super volcano, we couldn't pass up on Yellowstone National Park.

At old faithful, 4 trillion people wait hours to watch a small jacuzzi belch hot gas and then spew a 100 ft pillar of water for 3 minutes.

Impressive, but the one at the belaggio has lights and music.

Driving through 2 entire states really diminished our intensity levels, so we kept it low key avoiding major hikes and driving expeditions.

Here is April trying to prove that it's not how big the camera is, it's how you use it:

I told her she should build a website to showcase her massive archive of iPhone pictures and call it www.2megapixelmasterpieces.com

At the entrance to the park they give you a small stack of paper with maps, news and other literature printed on them. This brightly colored piece of paper wants people to avoid being gored to death:

At one point I fell soundly asleep, my head resting on the door, window open and the warm pine breeze caressing my freshly cut hair. It was a short nap and i awoke to a violent shake. When I opened my eyes my gaze was met back by a giant eyeball. A Buffalo about 2 ft from my head, plodding along in the bike lane. The shake was from April, who is now trying to pace the beast and force her camera into my hands. 1 blurry photo later were off. I told her to keep moving we would see more, but secretly I needed to get back to camp and change my soiled jeans.

The rest of the trip was very mellow. We made steak and veggies

Yummy

We also got to chat with our neighbors, Carl and Claire, a very nice couple heading back from Alaska who invited us to stay with them at their place in Maine!

That's all for today. Plenty of time tomorrow for more exploring.

Here's me at the edge of our camp.

  2. What I meant to say was: There has got to be a book in this! April with her unbelievable iphone pictures and the two of you typing/pecking out some hilarious accounts of your journey all on your trusty phones!

  3. Sean is turning out to be quite an entertaining writer. lol. I'm enjoying this. And April's right, it's not the size of the camera...but that does help sometimes.
