We went about 6 blocks to a trendy little area full of American Apparel girls and boys who are all in a band wearing threadless tees.
We got tea and an iced coffee from a small spot that was filled with recycled books for reading, late 1990s computers to surf the net and peeps with dredlocks.
After finding out a bunch of attractions in the nw region we walked back to the car.
The six blocks back we saw into the front yards and through the doorways of the REAL Portland:
First a woman with her 3 daughters went wizzing by on bicycles, all wearing helmets discussing their packed lunch situation, while passing 2 yoga instructors on foot. Then, I spotted a hand carved grateful dead logo on the garage of another house. On the front porch of a woman watering her wildflowers was a hammock. Inside another house I spotted bongos. We had to walk past the "give & take a toy" cobblestone wall, next to the neighbor couple playing a flute (woman) and banjo (man). Every person that passes sports a Thule bike rack on top of their cars. This is an active and healthy city, time to explore downtown:

Ooh, first stop powells books! This shop takes up an entire city block.

Off to the farmers market for berries peaches & lunch:

Sean had the best Italian sausage in all his life, and my tamale was spectacular!
Sean decided to cut his hair & We walked for a couple of hours admiring the city.

Sean with the city mayor:

Haha, and finally a 30 story view from the posh Portland view lounge:

After a long afternoon of walking, we relaxed in the arboredum.

We couldn't leave Portland without a proper dinner, so we hit up the restaurant of the year - Navarre, for French/Spanish tapas!

All good things must come to an end, dinner did as soon as I bit my lip! So we got on the road by 9 to truck all night to yellowstone. We decided on shifts, Sean wanted the first run - okay by me - I loaded up on wine at dinner so I could sleep easier. Sean got us past the Oregon mountainside and to the tip of Idaho. He almost finished all 5 disks of our brand new audiobook! 3am, I got up like a champ and concocted my wakeup brew of French vanilla capachino & coffee, with a side of monster energy drink and sunflower seeds to keep me busy.
We were in Idaho by 4am (time zone change) with 2,000 miles under our belt. Hello 75mph speed limit!
As soon as we crossed it smelled like we entered a bag of lays sour cream & onion chips.
Currently it's 6am day 7, so I'm passing the blog over to Sean - as soon as he wakes up :)

I'll leave you with a beautiful sunrise picture (a few bugs got in the way):

We should be at yellowstone by 1, and may not be able to update due to cell loss.
Tata for now!!
