Day 11 - Minnesota

In room 228 of the days inn, fairbault mn, we got the celebrity treatment. Right after this photo was taken April tossed the tv out the window, torched the curtains and punched holes in the wall while screaming over and over "I'm famous!!"

Ok, that might not have happened. But she did go swimming in the pool, and I shaved my beard off. Here I am trying to make a new beard out of coned beef at the cracker barrel:

April had chicken and dumplings. Yum

And wouldn't ya know it, the mall of America is on our way to Minneapolis and so we say "why the foot not!"

April bought some "as seen on tv" thing called bumpit it up, and I got an audiobook.

Quick pit-stop at whitecastle.

Mmm, tastes like heartburn.

Then, quite unexpectedly, seems some guy had the stones to take on the Buick in a good ol fashioned street race. Of course we spanked him. I Took this shot as we came off the line:

Too bad we didn't race for pink slips.

At the Minnesota center for science, they have the largest collection of questionable medical devices. Can you guess what this device is?

If you guessed prostate warmer congratulations, your right. The idea was that a man would stick that 4 inch probe up their ass and then plug it in so that the blue light comes on, heats the probe to 100 degrees F, then cures you hemheroids.

April learning what lies beneathe our thumbs.

Then a break in downtown St Paul. With Charlie brown.

We were a little bummed today because the walker art museum was closed, but we ended the day with a bang.

April found this 2hr riverboat cruise that departed just before sunset on the Mississippi and we made it by the skin of our teeth.

  1. Chicken and dumplings from Cracker Barrel followed up by a slider from White Castle? Oh she's living on the edge!

Have you been borrowing the audio books from Cracker Barrel? It's a sweet deal, you can return them to any one of their restaurants. Might wanna look into that.

  2. another suggestion...we just did it...We bid $50 for a 4 star hotel in Atlanta the day prior to arrival on Priceline.com and got it..if you know where you're going to be one night you might give that a shot if you ever feel in the mood for a hot shower and a comfy bed!
